Sailing regattas 2027: the calendar, the busiest months and the big championships

It is November and most clubs have not set every date for next year yet. Still, a good part of 2027 is already in the calendar: championships are often awarded years ahead, and the big classics run in the same week every year. This is where things stand right now, straight from FindYourSails. The list grows through the winter as organisers publish.

Right now our calendar holds 291 sailing regattas in 2027 across 21 countries. Most start in May, and 31 of them are world or European championships or international regattas of that weight.

The pattern is familiar: the season gets going in earnest in May and runs through September. The winter months are mostly boat shows, indoor events and regattas in southern Europe.

World championships, Europeans and the big international regattas

A few highlights: the America's Cup is decided in Naples, the World Sailing Championships for the two-person events are sailed in Gdynia, and the Rolex Fastnet Race, Kieler Woche, Cowes Week and the ORC Worlds in Copenhagen are all in. The full list, with dates and places:

Big regattas in Sweden in 2027

Sweden has 131 published regattas for 2027 so far. Among the bigger ones are Gotland Runt, GKSS Match Cup Sweden, the ORC Double Handed European Championship in Saltsjöbaden and the IOD Worlds in Stenungsund.
